Bathroom Storage Ideas For Small Bathrooms

Bathrooms can quickly get disorganised and messy, even with the best intentions. This is not surprising considering the bathroom is the busiest place in your home.

You may also feel in a hurry when you use the bathroom. This could be in the morning before work or at night before going out.

This problem can be magnified if your bathroom is small. With some clever storage solutions, you can transform your bathroom from a messy mess into an organized machine that is easily accessible and has everything it needs.

Use an Etagere

You can instantly make something sound better if you put a French name on it. An Etagere, which is essentially a set of the freestanding open shelves, was popularized in the 19th century and has recently been rediscovered, especially in bathrooms.

These narrow shelves make it possible to avoid installing wall cabinets. They are easy to mount and grab items from. An Etagere that's particularly tall will allow you to make the most of vertical space. This is especially important in small bathrooms.

Hang a fabric sink skirt

You can make your own sink by adding a piece of fabric if you have a standard sink.

You have a lot of space underneath a bathroom sink. With a skirt, you can conceal many sins or storage.

You can make an under-sink curtain by simply using fabric glue and velcro. This will cover boxes, towels, or any other items you wish to conceal underneath.

Use a wooden ladder

A ladder is a great option if you don't want to install a towel rail but still want to have a quick and easy way to hang towels.

You will notice a growing trend in bamboo or wooden ladders being used in bathrooms if you have ever watched interior design shows or read home style magazines.

To hang towels, ladders with circular rungs work well. The ladders with steps are great for small shelves.

You should avoid using metal ladders if you decide to do this. They will give the illusion that you are still decorating.

Utilise vertical space

You should always look up if you have a small bathroom with very limited horizontal wall space.

For small bathrooms, vertical storage is key. You will often find a small space above the door. This is a great place to store small items that are rarely used in your bathroom. A fold-up footstool can be added if there is enough space.
